Triangle Area Wildlife Rehabilitators
 
Below is the list of individuals with valid wildlife rehabilitation permits according to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and North Carolina State Law as of 6/10/2011.  Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.  An effort is made to keep this list current, but this is not an official list and no guarantee is made.  Listing indicates that, according to available information, the individual has current permits and/or licenses for the specified species and the address on the permit.  This does not constitute an endorsement of any individual or organization.
 
Except for the wildlife removal listings the individuals below are wildlife rehabilitators.  The permits/licenses are issued by the state of North Carolina and, where applicable, the Federal Government.  Individuals are volunteers and are not paid or subsidized by any government agency.  The permits/licenses are for rehabilitation and release of injured and orphaned native wildlife species and are required for the possession of these animals.  Rehabilitators are not licensed to trap or capture nuisance animals.  For this you will need to contact a licensed wildlife removal service (fees will apply).  For removal of dead animals contact your local city or county government for instructions.
 
NOTE: Raccoons, foxes, skunks and bats are classed by the state of North Carolina as rabies vectors and may not legally be rehabilitated or relocated under any conditions (there are no exceptions or exemptions.)  Introduced or invasive species including coyotes and pigs and certain game animals such as wild turkeys are not allowed to be rehabilitated or relocated.  If you have an issue with one of these species you should contact the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, your local animal control, or a wildlife removal service.

1 Permit Codes: Codes other than "full permit" apply only to specialty permits and indicate the individual does not hold the permit but is sub-permitted to provided support for and under the direction of someone with a full permit.  Federal regulations require those providing such support be listed on the holder's Federal Permit.
